This map is the product of a suitability study to find the most suitable (most accessible and least cost) place to locate a new park in West Seattle.

  1. I calculated a set of discrete distances from certain selected road by using the Euclidean Distance tool.
  2. Next I created a slope map from a DEM.
  3. I reclassified my streets: Cost( 1- most suitable- 3 least suitable).
  4. Then I put it all together using the raster Calculator to perform multiplication between the suitability grids. The multiplication was performed on the parcel (the reclassified one and slope (reclassified) grids, creating a suitability grid with 1 being the most suitable and 5 the least suitable.
